On 9.26.2018 received complaint with a video showing employees at this location washing their hair out above a floor drain at the facility with a hose.

The video clearly shows a staff member cleaning another staff member's hair with a hose in the dry storage area of the facility above a floor drain. There are multiple hygiene concerns with staff cleaning themselves in this area as water splashing from the hose may constitute environmental contamination of the buns, cups, or containers. There are chemical concerns with the use of soap and splashing in a non-designated area. At the time of inspection (the next morning) all of the items in this area are covered with the plastic wrap, bottles, or cans. It seems unlikely that any foods were adulterated during the incident, but the inspector cautions that any containers in the area should be cleaned prior to opening to prevent any contamination of foods within.

At the time of inspection the inspector was able to speak with the district manager. Per the district manager the employee has been disciplined. The district manager has talked with the entire staff and discussed policies of personal hygiene as well as social media use with the employees. Per the manager the employee had grease in their hair and the new policy for such is that the employee should be sent home to clean their hair. Discussed with the manager that the bathroom sink is a much more appropriate place for employees to practice hygiene of hair than the dry storeroom. Per the Ohio Department of Health as no violations were visibly seen by the inspector during the inspection, no violations can be noted.

As the district manager has disciplined and retrained the staff involved the complaint is closed with no further cause for action. Moving forward the facility shall ensure that staff are properly following the procedures put in place and adequately minimizing any contamination risks.
