The following violation(s) have been corrected since the last inspection.
3717-1-06.4(B)/Cleaning - frequency and restrictions.
Observed refrigeration trenches under freezers and beverage coolers with accumulation of waste water that appears to be from the sewage backup that occurred last week. The trenches are located below several cooling units such as beverage cooler and freezer units.
Clean and disinfect the refrigeration trenches to eliminate odors and remains of waste water to prevent further problems, health and safety issues, and strong odors. Operator voluntarily closed areas being maintained during inspection until completely cleaned and disenfected. The physical facilities shall be cleaned as often as necessary to keep them clean, and cleaning shall be done during periods when the least amount of food is exposed.
Comments
Follow-up conducted for the complaints reported regarding odors in Dairy section. During inspection, building department official assisted in inspection. The refrigeration trench had been cleaned and disinfected overnight, wastes removed, and observed clean and free of wastes at time of inspection (beverage area). Odors were not observed in beverage isle. Remains of odors near center cases around dairy area. Recommend keeping this area closed until odors no longer remain. Management is cleaning and disinfecting the center isle cooling units in dairy area to help reduce odors in the area and have been cleaning and disinfecting areas below the center isle refrigeration units. Management also plans on continuing disinfection of refrigeration trench and in areas near dairy section during late night hours. Recommend continuing disinfection of under ground components that may have been contaminated from backup until odors are removed and keeping areas closed from public when cleaning and disinfecting areas. During inspection, no signs of liquid wastes observed in areas below cooling units or in refrigeration trenches underneath units. Thank you for your cooperation in our investigation.
