Welcome to the Bayfield County Health Department. It is our responsibility to protect the health of our residents through a wide variety of programs and services. From Community Health to Environmental Health and Emergency Management, we provide a full array of prevention, inspection, licensure, health, safety, and wellness promotion services. Bayfield is the 2nd largest county in the State of Wisconsin by land area. We are home to over 15,000 full time residents and many part time residents in the summer months. Our Environmental Health team regulates and inspects 577 licensed facilities, monitors public drinking water supplies, responds to hazard complaints and environmental emergencies, investigates illnesses, and operates a drinking water laboratory for public and private water samples.
