Observation:
1) Nail implements are not being fully submerged.
2) CS20 bottle has expired (11/2018).
Corrective Action(s):
1) Use the immersion box in the back private room to ensure that the entire nail implement is submerged. Currently, there is a small glass jar at the equipment sinks with approximately 2 inches of CS20 inside.
2) Obtain new bottle of CS20 and ensure that it is fully stocked at all times. Until CS20 is obtained, you must use a 1:10 bleach water (1 cup bleach in 9 cups of water) solution to disinfect your nail implements. Discard expired CS20.

Non-Critical Hazards: There are no non-critical hazards.

Comments

Follow-up inspection:
- single-use items in carts and nail stations appear to be new and unused
- glass cabinet in back hallway has been removed
- staff stated that they are now using a 1:50 bleach solution to clean pedicure tubs between clients
- handwashing stations stocked with soap, hot and cold running water and/or paper towel

Reminder that CS20 solution in the immersion boxes must be replaced at a maximum of 14 days, or more frequently if solution has debris or there is heavy usage.
