Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), Child Care Licensing Regulation (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standard of Practice (DOLSOP). All care categories were assessed for compliance.

Observed Violations
POLICIES AND PROCEDURES: 13020 - CCLR s.22(1)(b) - A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.
Observation: Licensing observed that the emergency kit supplies did not have enough supplies in case of an emergency. There was some food and water but more items are needed. The manager said they will ensure that more supplies are added.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure that there are enough emergency supplies per person for 72 hours in case of an emergency.

At the inspection dated January 17, 2025, there were 2 children in care with 2 staff and the manager.
At the inspection, the above noted contravention was identified.
Please provide Licensing with a written response, by the date noted below, stating how the identified contraventions will be addressed in order to ensure year round compliance.
As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool was completed. A copy of the report and the corresponding Risk Assessment was emailed to the Manager.
