Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Ice scoop was found stored inside the ice machine.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure that the ice scoop handle does not touch the ice as ice is a food item. The ice scoop should be stored in a food grade container outside the machine.

Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Chlorine bleach sanitizer bucket with wiping cloths measured at 0 ppm.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure that a bucket of sanitizer with 100-200 ppm of chlorine bleach is available at all times. Operator made a new batch of sanitizer during inspection, the solution was measured at 200 ppm.

Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Hand sink at the back preparation area was out of paper towels
Corrective Action(s): Ensure that hand sinks are equipped with all the necessary materials for staff to perform adequate hand washing during their shift. Operator stocked the paper towel dispenser during the inspection.

Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Pot of glass jelly was found on the floor in the back preparation area.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure that food is stored 6 inches/15 cm above ground at all times. Operator moved the pot to a prep counter.

Observation: Bicycles and snowboards were stored in the back food preparation area near the sinks.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure all personal items are not stored within the food preparation area, these items should be removed.

Observation: No one on site have valid FOODSAFE level 1 or equivalent training, only the co-owner does but is not always on site.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure that one person at all times must have a valid FOODSAFE level 1 certificate or equivalent. Have staff enroll in FOODSAFE Level 1 training.

Routine Inspection conducted:
- Hand sink by the drink bar was equipped with hot/cold running water, paper towel and hand soap
- All cooling units are at 4C or below
- No hot holding of food products
- Ice machine at the back prep area is clean
- Ice sink at the bar area is clean and covered, all ice are removed at the end of operations. Ice scoops are stored in food grade containers on the counter.
- Egg batter for waffles are made on site and stored in the back cooler. Time stamped, good for 3 days, any leftover batter is discarded.
- 2 sinks available at bar area for drink ware washing
- 3 compartment sink available for ware washing, sink plugs available
- Storage area is well organized, all products are off ground on shelves
- No signs of pest activity, ongoing contract with pest control company
- General sanitation is satisfactory
- Permit located in visible location

COVID-19 compliance:
- Back dine in area has been closed off
- Game machines has been turned off
- No public washrooms available
- Plexiglass barrier at the cash register
- Floor markings available
- COVID-19 signage available at the entrance and at the cash register
- Max occupancy of 20 people

COVID-19 recommendation:
- Designate one door for entrance and the other door for exit to create a one way flow of customers

Required Action:
- Provide a copy of COVID-19 safety plan to health department. WorksafeBC template was provided to the operator at the time of the inspection.
