3701-31-04 (B)(1)(c) Corrected During Inspection Critical Chlorine disinfectant residual was less than 1 ppm for the pool (AT TIME OF INSPECTION THE FREE CHLORINE WAS 0.5 PPM. THE POOL OPERATOR CLOSED THE POOL.) Do not operate the pool when the disinfectant residuals are less than what is required. Ensure the chlorine disinfectant residual is at 1 ppm or above prior to placing the pool back into operation.
3701-31-04 (E)(2)(e) Emergency device (telephone) was not working. (AT TIME OF INSPECTION THE EMERGENCY PHONE WAS NOT AVAILABLE) Ensure that the emergency device is functioning properly and rings to the emergency response authorities.

Comments
At the time of this inspection the office was closed so I was unable to gain access to the pool equipment room. This means I was unable to observe the flow rate, ORP, verify pool records, reagents, etc. The pool chemistry was performed, pool safety equipment was checked. After it was discovered that there was insufficient disinfectant, I found the pool operator who immediately went to close the pool. The pool operator understood that the pool could not be opened to bathers until the free chlorine was 1 ppm or greater.
