[?] Inspection type: Standard
Inspection date: 25-October-2022
Violations: A summary of the violations found during the inspection are listed below.
3701-31-04 ( D )(6)(a)
Corrected During Inspection ORP reading was below 650 mv (AT THE TIME OF THIS INSPECTION A PHONE CALL WAS MADE TO AQUABALANCE WHO PROVIDED INSTRUCTION ON MAKING NECESSARY ADJUSTMENTS TO CORRECT)
Have the ACC unit inspected to determined why the ORP is low.
3701-31-04 (B)(1)(e)
Corrected During Inspection Critical Automatic Chemical Controller (ACC) was not functioning properly at the time of the inspection (AT THE TIME OF THIS INSPECTION A PHONE CALL WAS MADE TO AQUABALANCE WHO INSTRUCTED OPERATOR ON HOW TO RESET ACC TO ENSURE PROPER FUNCTIONING)
Do not operate the pool when the ACC unit is not functioning properly. Ensure that the ACC unit is functioning properly prior to placing the pool back into operation.
3701-31-04 (B)(4)(a)(i)
Disinfection residuals were not tested daily at pool side and/or at the required intervals for pools/automatic chemical controllers/special features. (AT TIME OF INSPECTION IT WAS FOUND THAT THE POOL OPERATOR WAS COMPLETING POOL CHEMISTRY ONCE/DAY BUT REGISTERING THE SAME NUMBERS FOR THE FUTURE READING)
Test the disinfection residual every day before bathers enter the water. Disinfection residual must then be tested every 4 hours when an ACC is not in use. If an ACC is in use the disinfectant residual must be tested every 12 hours while the pool is in use. For spraygrounds and spray features, the disinfectant residual must be tested at 1 spray feature every 6 hours the sprayground or spray feature is in use.
3701-31-04 (B)(4)(a)(ii)
Combined chlorine was not tested daily at pool side prior to use.(AT TIME OF INSPECTION IT WAS FOUND THAT THE POOL OPERATOR WAS COMPLETING POOL CHEMISTRY ONCE/DAY BUT REGISTERING THE SAME NUMBERS FOR THE FUTURE READING)
Test for combined chlorine prior to bathers entering the water and every 4 hours the pool is open for use. If ACC is in use combined chlorine must be tested every 12 hours while the pool is in use. For spraygrounds and spray features, the combined chlorine must be tested at 1 spray feature every 6 hours the sprayground or spray feature is in use.
3701-31-04 (B)(4)(a)(iii)
pH was not tested daily at pool side and/or at required intervals for pools/automatic chemical controllers/special features.(AT TIME OF INSPECTION IT WAS FOUND THAT THE POOL OPERATOR WAS COMPLETING POOL CHEMISTRY ONCE/DAY BUT REGISTERING THE SAME NUMBERS FOR THE FUTURE READING)
pH must be tested prior to bathers entering the water and every 4 hours the pool is open for use. If ACC is in use pH must be tested every 12 hours while the pool is in use. For spraygrounds and spray features, the pH must be tested at 1 special feature every 6 hours the sprayground or spray feature is in use.
3701-31-04 (B)(4)(c)
SVRS/APSOS/ACC test results/ service records were not maintained. (AT TIME OF INSPECTION IT WAS OBSERVED THAT THE ACC WAS NOT BEING TESTED AT THE MINIMUM OF ONCE/MONTH AND DOCUMENTED TO ENSURE THAT THE ACC SHUTS OFF WHEN THE FLOW IS RESTRICTED OR BLOCKED)
The test results/service records for these devices must be kept on site for review. If the device has not been recently serviced, have the device tested immediately and provide documentation of the test results.
3701-31-04 (C)(2)
Repeat pH was outside the range of 7.2 to 7.8.
Treat the pool water so that the pH is within the acceptable range.
Comments
Pool operators are REQUIRED to test the functionality of the ACC on a monthly basis and document the testing on the pool records. This test is to ensure that the ACC shuts off, quits adding chemicals into the pool, when there is a block in the flow. At the time of this inspection, Aquabalance was called and the representative walked us through how to test this standard/built in feature of the ACC. Upon instruction of the Aquabalance representative, the flow valve was closed and the ACC DID NOT SHUT OFF but continued to display "F1ON". Per Aquabalance representative, this should have changed the display to read "F1OFF" and instructed the pool operator to contact the service department because there is a faulty part on the ACC. EcoLab, Matt, arrived during inspection. I explained and demonstrated to Matt how Aquabalance instructed us to test the ACC. Matt was going to determine what part on the ACC needs replaced to ensure that the ACC functions correctly.
