Facility Type: Pool
[?] Inspection type: Standard
Inspection date: 02-November-2020
Violations: A summary of the violations found during the inspection are listed below.
3701-31-04 ( D )(6)(a)
Repeat ORP reading was below 650 mv
Have the ACC unit inspected to determined why the ORP is low.
3701-31-04 (B)(4)(a)(ii)
Repeat Combined chlorine was not tested daily at pool side prior to use.
Test for combined chlorine prior to bathers entering the water and every 4 hours the pool is open for use. If ACC is in use combined chlorine must be tested every 12 hours while the pool is in use. For spraygrounds and spray features, the combined chlorine must be tested at 1 spray feature every 6 hours the sprayground or spray feature is in use.
3701-31-04 (B)(4)(a)(iii)
Repeat pH was not tested daily at pool side and/or at required intervals for pools/automatic chemical controllers/special features.
pH must be tested prior to bathers entering the water and every 4 hours the pool is open for use. If ACC is in use pH must be tested every 12 hours while the pool is in use. For spraygrounds and spray features, the pH must be tested at 1 special feature every 6 hours the sprayground or spray feature is in use.
3701-31-04 (B)(4)(a)(vi)
Total alkalinity was not tested weekly.
Test total alkalinity at least once/week.
3701-31-04 (D)(8)(c)
Test kit reagents were not fresh or stored properly. (AT TIME OF INSPECTION A NUMBER OF REAGENTS WERE EXPIRED)
Obtain fresh reagents and store them properly.
3701-31-04 (E)(2)
The safety equipment for the pool was not accessible and/or visible. (AT TIME OF INSPECTION THE SPINE BOARD WAS LOCATED INSIDE THE LOCKED MECHANICAL ROOM)
Place the safety equipment in a clearly visible area and ensure that the equipment is accessible in the event of an emergency.
3701-31-04(D)(6)(a)(2)
Corrected During Inspection Critical Repeat Pool free chlorine disinfectant residual was below 1 ppm.
Do not operate the pool until the chlorine disinfectant residual is at 1 ppm or above.
Comments
The pool chemistry must be tested daily PRIOR to the pool open to bathers. Once the pool is open then the pool chemistry must be tested at least every 12 hours (because operation has an Automatic Chemical Controller (ACC)). Because this pool is open to bathers for a 12 hour window, pool chemistry must be done once during that period.

If there is no one to test pool chemistry, then pool can not be open.

All pool closures must be documented on the "Weekly Pool Operation and Incident Report".

The times that the pool chemistry is conducted must be documented on the "Weekly Pool Operation and Incident Report".

The flow meter must be documented on the "Weekly Pool Operation and Incident Report" and ensure that the flow is allowing for the required turnover rate.

Training was done with pool operator, Steve. Pool chemistry was reviewed using a new test kit. Continue to monitor the ACC. If alarm does not turn off and the ORP rate does not reach the minimum required rate of 650, then I would suggest reaching out to EcoLab to help train and correct.

If the pool is required to be closed, then the card reader mechanism must be turned off preventing guest access in addition to sign stating the closure.
