Required meters and gauges were not maintained or were not functional while the pool is in operation. -Observed the gauge on top of the filter was not functional at the time of the inspection. PROMPTLY REPAIR OR REPLACE THE FAULTY GAUGE.
Maintain all meters and gauges in a properly funtioning manner at all times while the pool is in operation.

Comments
The operator was observed performing onsite chemical tests appropriately and is aware of the acceptable parameters and necessary corrective actions.

When using CYA (cyanuric acid) the alkalinity level is calculated by subtracting 1/3 the CYA level from the alkalinity reading. EXAMPLE: alkalinity test reading = 70 ppm, CYA = 60 ppm. Alkalinity is 70 ppm – (60/3) = 50 ppm
