Comments
It was reported that a individual with a confirmed case of Cryptosporidium in Cuyahoga County was swimming in/at this facility over the weekend. There was no report of a fecal accident, but as added insurance it is recommended that the facility super-chlorinate the pools after closing to ensure that any possible residual Cryptosporidium be effectively killed. As is there little reason to suspect that there is any increased risk of contracting the parasite from this facility in relation to this individual. At time of inspection free chlorine levels were 5ppm (above required 1ppm minimum), the pool was closed on Monday, and with the exception of a .5 reading at 2pm on Sunday all readings between Friday and today were between 2 and 5ppm. Again, super-chlorination is recommended at this point as Cryptosporidium is a resilient parasite that does take elevated levels of chlorine for an extended time period to officially kill (super-chlorination information was provided to staff via email).
