Dennis Propes and Jonathon Deeter met with both the pool operator Christine and the General Manager Crystal Allison on 12/29/2016 at 9 am. The main reason for the inspection was to check to see why the records were off when compared to the pool records that the health department had recorded. During the inspection, we discussed with both the pool operator and the general manager how to correctly take chlorine readings of the pool and how to obtain accurate results. As part of the discussion, we performed the pool tests with the operator and general manager, and then had them perform the tests on the spa while ensuring that they were both reading the tests and recording the data correctly. We discussed that whenever the free chlorine reaches a very low point (below 1 ppm for pools and 2 ppm for spas), that the pool or spa must be closed to the public. We talked with the pool operator and general manager, making sure they understood that combined chlorine should not be zero for the pool or spa. Lastly stated, we conveyed the seriousness of the violations addressed, and that if this facility continues to operate this way that the license holder will be brought in front of the Board of Health to take action on their license.
