Inspection Information
Facility Name: Home 2 Suites
Facility Type: Pool
[?] Inspection type: Standard
Inspection date: 14-December-2020
Violations: A summary of the violations found during the inspection are listed below.
3701-31-04 (B)(1)(l)
Critical Electrical hazards were present in the pool area. Observed interior pool light loose and exposed in pool water creating an electrical hazard.
Do not operate the pool when an electrical hazard is present. Operator voluntarily closed pool at time of inspection.
3701-31-04 (B)(4)(a)(i)
Disinfection residuals were not tested daily at pool side and/or at the required intervals for pools/automatic chemical controllers/special features.
Test the disinfection residual every day before bathers enter the water. Disinfection residual must then be tested every 4 hours when an ACC is not in use. If an ACC is in use the disinfectant residual must be tested every 12 hours while the pool is in use.
3701-31-04 (B)(4)(a)(ii)
Combined chlorine was not tested daily at pool side prior to use.
Test for combined chlorine prior to bathers entering the water and every 4 hours the pool is open for use. If ACC is in use combined chlorine must be tested every 12 hours while the pool is in use.
3701-31-04 (B)(6)(t)
Critical Observed pump room with chemicals open and directly on the ground. Chemcial storage area was not free of potential hazards.
Store chemicals in an appropriate manner to prevent any sort of potential safety hazards
3701-31-04 (B)(6)(y)
Corrected During Inspection Critical Chemical containers were being stored improperly. Open "shock" packages observed directly next to and on top of muriatic acid containers.
Label and properly store all chemical containers to avoid a chemical reaction or unnecessary exposure.
3701-31-04 (D)(02)
Critical The pool was not being continuously disinfected using a chemical feeding device connected to the circulation system. Upon inpsection, the pool operator stated "chemical handfeeding" was taking place.
Replace the disinfection system with more chlorine so the pool is continuously being disinfected without "handfeeding." Pool operator voluntarily closed pool until chlorine disinfectant from EcoLab is provided and connected to automatic chemical control unit.
3701-31-04 (D)(7)(d)
Critical Flow or pressure switch for a shut off valve was not provided or the unit was not tested monthly
Provide records indicating that the unit is being tested monthly. No monthly test records on file for ACC. Begin to test monthly as required.
3701-31-04 (E)(3)(b)
The unguarded pool was in use without the "Children must be supervised" and/or "Swimming alone is not recommended" signs posted.
Post the "Children must be supervised" and/or "Swimming Alone is Not Recommended" signs at all times the pool is available for use.
Comments
Inspection conducted also with Shane Snapp.

->At the time of inspection, a knowledgeable pool operator was not on-site. The facility was currently "handfeeding" chlorine. Handfeeding chemical disinfectant is not permitted. The facility voluntarily closed by posting a "Warning - pool closed" sign at the time of inspection. Also, a pool light was loose and electrical wiring was exposed. Until these two items can be proven corrected, the facility must remain closed. Once proven corrected during an on-site re-inspection (to occur when pool operator is ready), the pool may reopen.

->Ensure the neck/head immobilizer, since no lifeguard is ever on-site, is removed from the spine board. PIC at time of inspection was able to remove neck/head immobilizer.
->Ensure the pump room is cleaned and free of residual chemicals so potential chemical hazards are no longer present.
