Violations: A summary of the violations found during the inspection are listed below.
3701-31-04 (B)(4)(a)(i)
Repeat At the time of inspection, the pool was observed open and the water quality readings were not observed taken and/or documented.
To ensure the water quality readings are within normal limits prior to usage, the testing of the water shall be conducted prior to opening and with a automatic chemical controller, every 12 hours. Ensure the water is tested prior to opening.
3701-31-04 (C)(2)
Repeat At the time of inspection, the pH was observed at 7.0.
To ensure the chlorine is working properly, the pH shall be between 7.2 and 7.8. Increase the pH of the pool to within normal limits.
3701-31-04 (C)(3)
Repeat At the time of inspection, the alkalinity was observed at 20 ppm.
To ensure the pool is properly balanced, the alkalinity shall be at or above 60 ppm. Increase the alkalinity of the pool.
3701-31-04 (D)(7)(d)
Critical Repeat The flow switch on the automatic chemical controller was observed not recently tested.
To ensure the ACC shuts off when the flow ceases, the automatic chemical controller flow switch shall be tested monthly. Test the ACC shut off valve.
3701-31-04 (E)(2)(a)(ii)
Repeat A ring buoy was not observed at the time of inspection.
To ensure there is a flotation device present for rescue, a ring buoy shall be available. Provide a ring buoy.
3701-31-04 (E)(2)(a)(iii)
Repeat At the time of inspection, the spine board was not observed present on the deck surface.
To ensure stabilization, a spine board shall be present when the pool is operational. Place a spine board near the pool.
The following violation(s) have been corrected since the last inspection.
3701-31-04 (B)(1)(c)/Minimum disinfection residual shall be maintained as required.
At the time of inspection, the free chlorine was observed at 0.6 ppm.
To disinfect the pool, the free chlorine shall be at or above 1.0 ppm. Cease operation of the pool until the chlorine residual is at or above 1.0 ppm. Instructed the PIC to close the pool and put the "Danger Pool Closed" sign on the gate until the free chlorine is at or above 1.0 ppm.
3701-31-04 (B)(1)(e)/Automatic Chemical Controller (ACC) shall function properly.
At the time of inspection, the automatic chemical controller ORP was observed reading 843 while the chlorine residual was observed at 0.6 ppm and pH was observed reading at 6.25.
To ensure proper chlorine and pH levels, the ACC shall function properly. Cease operation of the pool until the ACC is repaired or replaced. Instructed to have the ACC inspected and either have it calibrated, repaired or replaced.
Comments
- Reinspection was conducted due to report dated 07/25/2018. At the time of inspection, the free chlorine was observed at 1.2 ppm and the ORP on the automatic chemical controller was at 819. The minimum residual disinfection and functioning ACC violations were corrected and are satisfactory. The other violations had not yet been corrected at the time of inspection. According to the PIC, the pool was supposed to be closed and a "Danger Pool Closed" sign posted. At the time of inspection, did not observe any "Danger Pool Closed" sign. If closed, ensure there is a "Danger Pool Closed" sign posted at each entrance/exit point.
