Facility Name: Towne Park Apartment
Facility Type: Pool
[?] Inspection type: Follow-up
Inspection date: 03-August-2017
Violations: A summary of the violations found during the inspection are listed below.
3701-31-04 (B)(1)(a)
Critical At the time of inspection, the equalizer line cover closest to the steps was observed not secured.
To prevent entrapment hazards, all covers shall be secure and in compliance. Cease operation of the pool and secure the equalizer line cover.
3701-31-04 (B)(1)(c)
Critical Repeat The free chlorine or chlorine residual was observed at 0.2 ppm.
To disinfect the pool, the chlorine residual shall be at or above 1.0 ppm. At the time of inspection, the pool was voluntarily closed and the water hyperchlorinated. Ensure the free chlorine is at or above 1.0 ppm.
3701-31-04 (B)(1)(e)
Critical Repeat The automatic chemical controller was observed reading an ORP of 705 while the free chlorine was observed at 0.2 ppm.
To ensure the chlorine maintains a proper reading, the automatic chemical controller shall be maintained in good repair. Cease operation of the pool until the ACC is repaired or replaced.
3701-31-04 (C)(2)
Repeat At the time of inspection, the pH was observed at 7.0.
Once the free chlorine is at or above 1.0 ppm, add enough pH up to the pool to increase the pH to within normal limits (7.2 to 7.8).
3701-31-04 (C)(3)
Repeat The alkalinity was observed at 40 ppm.
To ensure the pool is properly balanced, the alkalinity shall be at or above 60 ppm. Once the free chlorine and pH are within normal limits, add sodium bicarbonate to the pool to increase the alkalinity.
The following violation(s) have been corrected since the last inspection.
Comments
- At the time of inspection, the pool was closed due to the lack of free chlorine in the pool, a dysfunctional automatic chemical controller, and an equalizer line not secured. Once all items have been corrected, prior to reopening contact the health department (Jason Dreier) at 937-573-3506 for an inspection.

- Reinspection will be conducted on or after 08/07/2017.
