Inspection Information
Facility Name: Towne Park Apartment
Facility Type: Pool
[?] Inspection type: Standard
Inspection date: 02-August-2017
Violations: A summary of the violations found during the inspection are listed below.
3701-31-04 (B)(1)(c)
Critical The free chlorine or chlorine residual was observed at 0.2 ppm.
To disinfect the pool, the chlorine residual shall be at or above 1.0 ppm. At the time of inspection, the pool was voluntarily closed and the water hyperchlorinated. Ensure the free chlorine is at or above 1.0 ppm.
3701-31-04 (B)(1)(e)
Critical The automatic chemical controller was observed reading an ORP of 705 while the free chlorine was observed at 0.2 ppm.
To ensure the chlorine maintains a proper reading, the automatic chemical controller shall be maintained in good repair. Cease operation of the pool until the ACC is repaired or replaced.
3701-31-04 (C)(2)
Repeat At the time of inspection, the pH was observed at 7.0.
Once the free chlorine is at or above 1.0 ppm, add enough pH up to the pool to increase the pH to within normal limits (7.2 to 7.8).
3701-31-04 (C)(3)
Repeat The alkalinity was observed at 40 ppm.
To ensure the pool is properly balanced, the alkalinity shall be at or above 60 ppm. Once the free chlorine and pH are within normal limits, add sodium bicarbonate to the pool to increase the alkalinity.
Comments
- At the time of inspection, the pool was voluntarily closed due to the low free chlorine concentration and the automatic chemical controller not functioning properly. Once the ACC is functioning properly and the free chlorine is at or above 1.0 ppm the pool is satisfactory to reopen. A reinspection will be conducted on or after 08/03/2017.
