| A fax was received by the Health Department indicating that an inmate at PCI had a confirmed E.coli infection. The date of illness onset was 2/29/2020. The patient was hospitalized from 3/2/2020-3/9/2020. The patient was contacted and interviewed on 3/10/2020. The interview detailed the foods that the patient ate before becoming sick. The health department was sent this information on 3/10/2020. The health department contacted PCI to determine if this was a single case or an outbreak. The warden's assistant confirmed that no other individuals became ill, therefore, this was not considered an outbreak. |
