3717-1-03.5(C)(3) / Food labels - bulk food
Bulk food display for customer self-service was not properly labeled. Observed multiple bulk candies not properly labeled with ingredients statements. Candies not labeled: Chocolate baseballs, Hershey kisses, chewy fruities, butterscotch hard candies, candy straws-all colors, vanila caramels, splash lollipops-all colors, smarties-both kinds, gummy burgers, swirl pop all colors.
Bulk food that is available for consumer self-dispensing shall be prominently labeled with the information specified under (C)(2) of this rule. Any candy that does not come with an ingredient statement on the individually wrapped candy needs to have an ingredients statement on the container they are being displayed in for customers awareness. Place ingredients statement on all candies missing them. Correct by next inspection.
3717-1-06.1(M) / Outer openings - protected.
Observed an outer opening, window, or door without proper protection against the entry of insects and rodents. Observed back door near restroom to have a gap and showing outside at the bottom.
To prevent contamination, outer openings of an FSO or RFE shall be protected against the entry of insects and rodents as specified in this rule. Instructed PIC to place proper strip under door so that the outside is not showing and to prevent rodents and insects from entering facility. Correct by next standard inspection.
3717-1-06.4(B) / Cleaning - frequency and restrictions.
Observed a build-up of dirt and debris. Observed floor in back storage area and restroom area to be dirty and need cleaned (swept & mopped).
The physical facilities shall be cleaned as often as necessary to keep them clean, and cleaning shall be done during periods when the least amount of food is exposed. Instructed employee to clean floors in back room, remove all surface dirt if unable to do so by sweeping and mopping have someone buff the floor to remove surface residue. Correct by next inspection.
3717-1-06.4(F) / Drying mops.
Observed mops being dried using an unapproved method. Observed drying mops sitting on the ground.
After use, mops shall be placed in a position that allows them to air-dry without soiling walls, equipment, or supplies. Instructed employee to hang mops after use to allow them to air dry.
3717-1-06.4(H) / Cleaning and maintenance of plumbing fixtures.
Observed plumbing fixtures that were not being kept clean and maintained. -Observed handsink (grey residue) and toilet (feces residue) in employee restroom that were dirty and needed cleaned. -Observed water fountain in back area that had hard water stains along with moldy/slimy residue buildup.
Plumbing fixtures such as handwashing sinks, toilets, and urinals shall be cleaned as often as necessary to keep them clean and maintained. Instructed employee to clean all plumbing fixtures. If water fountain is not in working condition have repairs made so that it is working properly or have licensed plumber remove if not working and no longer needed in facility. Correct by next inspection.
