3717-1-05.1(D) / Backflow prevention - air gap.
Critical Corrected During Inspection Observed the air gap between a plumbing fixture and a piece of equipment that was not sufficient to prevent back siphonage of contaminated water. OBSERVED a drain from the seafood prep sink below the rim of the pipe into the sewer system. To prevent a foodborne illness from bacteria creeping up the pipe into the prep sink an air gap shall be provided. Provide an air gap. ,
To prevent contamination, an air gap between the water supply inlet and the flood level rim of the plumbing fixture, equipment, or nonfood equipment shall be at least twice the diameter of the water supply inlet and may not be less than one inch (25 millimeters). Employee removed the pipe & made an air gap.
3717-1-05.1(O)(2) / Using a handwashing sink - other uses prohibited.
Critical Corrected During Inspection Handwashing sink is being used for purposes other than handwashing. Observed dirty equipment & a bus tub in the hand sink in Meat station area. So employees may wash their hands as needed to prevent a foodborne illness, Hand sinks shall not be used for any use except handwashing.
To prevent contamination, a handwashing sink may not be used for purposes other than handwashing. Employees removed dirty equipment & bus tub & put on sink area
3717-1-06.1(I) / Light bulbs - protective shielding.
Observed light bulbs or heat lamp that were not properly shielded or coated where required. Observed unshielded lights in Starbucks above coffee making area. To prevent a physical contamination if broken, lights shall be shielded or have a protected covering. Shield or replace with plastic coated light bulbs
Light bulbs shall be shielded, coated, or otherwise shatter-resistant in areas where there is exposed food, clean equipment, utensils, or linens, or unwrapped single-service or single-use articles and does not apply in areas used only for storing food in unopened packages. An infrared or other heat lamp shall be protected against breakage by a shield surrounding and extending beyond the bulb so that only the face of the bulb is exposed.
