Inspection Information
Facility Name: WESTERN AVE. OIL
Facility Type: Commercial RFE < 25000 sq. ft.
[?] Inspection type: Standard
Inspection date: 04-May-2021
Violations: A summary of the violations found during the inspection are listed below.
3717-1-03.2(C)
Critical Food not properly protected from contamination by separation, packaging, and segregation. Observed raw eggs stored above gallons of milk. Since milk is technically RTE and eggs have the risk for food borne illnesses unless properly cooked, the eggs should be stored underneath of the milk in the event that one breaks and leaks onto RTE food stored belowed. Please do so.

3717-1-03.2(Y)
Food not protected from contamination. Observed a coffee pot with coffee in it with no overhead protection. To ensure nothing falls inside of the coffee from above, potentially contaminating it, ensure that all coffee pots have overhead protection or are covered.

3717-1-04.4(A)(2)
Equipment components are not intact, tight or properly adjusted. Observed the walk in cooler door's seal to be torn. Repair/replace so that the temperature inside is maintained at or below 41 degrees F.

3717-1-05.4(P)
Improperly cleaned storage area for refuse, recyclables, or returnables. Observed trash accumulating on the ground by the outside dumpster. Ensure to clean this area and maintain it clean so that it does not attract unwanted pests/rodents.

3717-1-06.4(A)
Physical facilities not maintained in good repair. Areas include but are not limited to the following: a missing ceiling tile above the reach in beer coolers and water damaged ceiling tiles throughout. Repair/replace the tiles as needed.

PIC was very busy during the time of inspection, so I was unable to fully go over everything with him. If you have any questions about the report, please feel free to reach out.
COVID precautions good. Observed signs, barriers at the register, hand sanitizer and employees wearing masks. Ensure to encourage mask usage among customers entering the store. Thank you.
Restrooms were currently 'out of order' to the public.
Ensure at least one person per shift has the level 1/PIC training in food safety/protection.
