Comments
Received complaint stating: Selling expired meat, changing the date stickers also dropping meat on the floor and continuing to sell it.
Spoke to office manager about complaint, she showed me the return logs from the past week and there was not any returns for bad/expired meat, they track this weekly. Brandon in the meat department walked me through the process of how meat goes from the truck to cut to labeled and put on the shelf. Meat is date marked based on type of meat (pork, chicken, beef). He showed me how he does the markdown process and inspects meat daily on the salesfloor. He said sometimes they receive meat that is already going bad so it is sent back to the company for a refund. At time of inspection I did not see signs of spoiled meat or mislabeling. Meat prep room was well kept and meat was stored properly at time of inspection.
