The facility type indicates the retail status of the facility (commercial or non-commercial) as well as the size of the facility. Facility type is also divided among the following:

• FSO: Food Service Operation (Restaurants)
• RFE: Retail Food Establishment (Grocery and Convenience Stores)
• Vending: Vending Machine
• Mobile: Mobile Food Facility
