The Environmental Health Division promotes public health by addressing many of the environmental factors that can affect human health. The primary role of the environmental health staff is to prevent human illness or injury through public education, regulation and advocacy.

Sanitarians in the department perform a wide variety of public health functions which include inspecting, regulating and enforcement of the following:

• Recreational Water - public swimming pools/spas and beaches
• Campground/RV parks
• Tattoo/Body Piercing Establishments
• School Environments
• Private Water Systems
• Home and Small Flow Sewage Treatment Systems
