Langlade County Health Department (LCHD)

Langlade County is located in the heart of the Northwoods. With a population of about 19,000 residents and 800 square miles, Langlade County is a scenic beauty. Known as the “County of Trails,” Langlade County has ample recreation opportunities.

The Langlade County Health Department (LCHD) became an agent for the WI Department of Agriculture, Trade & Consumer Protection in July 2023. LCHD is responsible for the licensing and regulation of retail food establishments, campgrounds, swimming pools, water attractions, hotels, motels, and tourist rooming houses. LCHD ensures that all establishments are following state and local regulations. All licensed establishments that serve the public are inspected by the Langlade County Health Department annually by the Environmental Health Specialist. The environmental health specialist works with establishment owners and managers each day to keep the environment and your food safe. Inspections aim to assess the operator’s ability to ensure that day to day operations are conducted in a safe and sanitary manner.

Mission: Promote health and wellness for all in Langlade County, regardless of social, economic, or cultural reasons, by providing public health services essential for a safe and healthy community.

*Please keep in mind that any inspection report is a “snapshot” of the day and time of the inspection. *
